WEDDING SURVIVAL GUIDE

Pack it up to pack it down…

Ask someone you trust (or your planner) to pack away some food for you to enjoy. We’re talking food from the cocktail hour to the dessert and everything between. You’ll likely have no time to eat much of it, and you’ll find yourself hungry after the wedding when you can finally relax.

If you can, have snacks through the day! Low blood sugar can make you nauseous, irritable, tired, and in extreme cases you could pass out. If you need help, have a people from the wedding party remind you.

Have a gift mule!

Designate someone to take home your gifts, mementos, decorations you’re keeping, guest book, etc. You can delegate these responsibilities to a bridesmaid, family member, or day-of-planner so that it’s one less thing to deal with at the end of your busy (and special) day.

Enjoy your epiphany.

Look at everyone in attendance of your wedding. Take a moment to sit and think about how much all these people around you mean. Have an epiphany for how special this time is and how amazing these people are. Pause. Now take a moment to realize your love for your significant other and reflect on the amazing parts of the day. When things get tough, draw on this moment in time and it will get you through so much.

Keep it toasty!

If you do a toast, there should be a moment where you acknowledge and thank everyone in attendance, giving everyone that warm and thoughtful moment can make the mood even better.

CHARGE!

Be sure to charge your phone! While you should focus mostly on your big day, it’s important to keep your device handy as some emergency calls may come up or you’ll want to take a call from a family member that couldn’t attend.

Change of shoes…

Sure, those Louboutins look amazing, but let’s be real. They are most likely not the most comfortable, especially if you want to dance during your wedding. Bring a pair of comfy shoes to change into!

Cosmetics

Although you’ve had the best makeup done for today, there is still a big risk of something going wrong. From a tear to the humidity, it’s best to be prepared. Try to bring foundation, mascara, lipstick, and anything else that is a base of your look in a bag with you at all times. Also, don’t forget some deodorant for the both of you.

Medicine

This is going to be a long day and will tax you physically. Bring some NSAIDs for pain relief and antacids for culinary festivities. If you can, even go to Costco and get enough to share!

Outdoor Supplies

If you’re planning on getting married outside or spending a lot of time outside, be ready for anything from nature. Rain, wind, etc. We suggest some bug spray, sunscreen, and even aloe vera or hand warmers depending on the time of year.

Wedding Night Goods

The party doesn’t always end, at least for the lucky couple. Bring any supplies you might need for the bedroom. Remember to pack your day after outfit as well too. Fresh clothes makes the start of a new day much more enjoyable.

Ask…

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, the worst someone can say is “no”. We are also here to help. We’ve done this wedding thing a few times and can offer advice based off our experience.
